Abstract:

Labyrinth weirs are considered as an appropriate choice to correct the weirs that are having difficulty in passing the maximum possible flow. For this purpose, in the present study, a new weir was introduced called the of pseudo-COSINE labyrinth weir. First, models with different widths and heights were built in FLUENT software as a virtual laboratory. The anti-corona algorithm and adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ACVO-ANFIS) were used for predicting discharge COEFFICIENT. of pseudo-COSINE labyrinth weir. Validation of the proposed method was performed using Experimental data. Then, to identify the superior model and determine the parameters affecting the discharge COEFFICIENT of pseudo-COSINE labyrinth weir, the combination of different dimensionless parameters was evaluated. The performance of the proposed method was evaluated with five statistics, including determination COEFFICIENT (R2), root means squared error (RMSE), mean absolute percentage error (MAPE), nash-sutcliffe (NSE), and relative root mean square error (RRMSE). The results showed that in low hydraulic heads, the discharge COEFFICIENT has its highest value. As the radius increases, the discharge COEFFICIENT increases due to the increase in the effective length of the labyrinths. At a constant H/W, with increasing weir height, the discharge COEFFICIENT increased. The results of the ACVO-ANFIS model showed that the input variables are the ratio of the radius to the weir height (R/W), the ratio of the length of the weir to weir height (L/W), and the ratio of the hydraulic head to the weir height (H/W), with error values R2=0. 971, RMSE=00. 9, MAPE=0. 006, RRMSE=0. 010, and NSE=0. 977, the most effective parameters in determining the discharge COEFFICIENT of pseudo-COSINE labyrinth weirs.

Abstract:

An experimental study for the convection heat transfer COEFFICIENT in a region of nanofluid containing Al2O3 oxide nanoparticles of 20 nanometer diameter in water as a base fluid through circular annular tube in the COSINE thermal flux boundary condition was carried out. The primary purpose of this investigation was accomplished on the surface temperature of the heat source (inner pipe) determined at the maximum upper than the middle of pipe for the whole entry temperatures and surface temperature for nanofluid which was less than that of the base fluid. However, the nanofluid did not have any effect on the location point on the maximum temperature surface. Then, the convection heat transfer COEFFICIENT and Nusselt number were scrutinized showing that both of them increase by increasing of the volume fraction and Reynolds number. The maximum value of the heat transfer COEFFICIENT of nanofluid belongs to the volume fraction of 1.5% and the Reynolds number near 2100 which is 19%, compared to that of the base-fluid. The effect of entrance temperature and pressure of nanofluid on the heat transfer COEFFICIENT was also studied. The experimental data have shown that by increasing the entrance temperature, the heat transfer COEFFICIENT improves but the pressure has a negligible effect on heat transfer. The results demonstrated that the relative pressure drop of nanofluid increased remarkably by increasing the volume fraction. Furtheremore, we observed that by decreasing the Reynolds number the pressure drop increased because of more sediment of nanoparticle at lower velocities.

Abstract:

The present paper aims at Studying the changing trends of temperature (mean, maximum, minimum, maximum and minimum absolute, freezing days including) in order to find an easy and effective way to measure the similarity between temperature time series on various stations. The cluster analysis was carried out in all stations of Tehran city, which led to classification: the following.1- Mehrabad Station and Doushan Tappeh.2- Chitgar Station.3- Ahminabad Station.4- Geophysics and Shomal Tehran Station. We recognised changing tempo-spatial patterns of temperature. Tehran city, on a decadal scale, encountered with increasing temperature trends.

Abstract:

Directional statistics are very useful tools to model the phenomenon that are characterized by the angles. Recently, various disciplines including biology, astronomy, meteorology and bioinformatics have paid attention to use these distributions. Particularly, it was shown in biological researches that there are two pair angles describing, relatively, the complete geometrical and spatial structures of a protein in the three dimensional space. There is a distribution, called bivariate Von-Mises, to represent the position of the atoms based upon the values of these angles in a probabilistic manner. In this paper, considering an especial case of this density (COSINE model), the properties of distribution including the numbers of modes and its approximation by the bivariate normal distribution are first studied. Then, to estimate the parameters using the pseudo-likelihood method is described. The theoretical materials are evaluated in simulation studies and the application of the COSINE model in a real example is presented.

Abstract:

Economic Load Dispatch (ELD) is an important part of cost minimization procedure in power system operation. Di erent derivative and probabilistic methods are used to solve ELD problems. This paper proposes a powerful Sine COSINE Algorithm (SCA) to explain the ELD issue including equality and inequality restrictions. The main aim of ELD is to satisfy the entire electric load at minimum cost. The SCA is a population-based probabilistic method, which guides its search agents that are randomly placed in the search space towards an optimal point using their tness functions and keeps a track of the best solution achieved by each search agent. SCA was used to solve the ELD problem due to its favorable exploration and local optima escaping technique. This algorithm con rmed that promising areas of the search space were exploited to have a smooth transition from exploration to exploitation using sine and COSINE functions. Simulation results proved that the proposed algorithm surpassed other existing optimization techniques in terms of quality of the solution obtained and computational e ciency. The nal results also proved the robustness of the SCA.

Abstract:

Recently, Kharazmi and Saadatinik (2016) introduced a new family of lifetime distributions called hyperbolic COSINE – F (HCF) distribution. In the present paper, it is focused on a special case of HCF family with exponentiated exponential distribution as a baseline distribution (HCEE). Various properties of the proposed distribution including explicit expressions for the moments, quantiles, mode, moment generating function, failure rate function, mean residual lifetime, order statistics and expression of the entropy are derived. Estimating parameters of HCEE distribution are obtained by eight estimation methods: maximum likelihood, Bayesian, maximum product of spacings, parametric bootstrap, non-parametric bootstrap, percentile, least-squares and weighted least-squares. A simulation study is conducted to examine the bias, mean square error of the maximum likelihood estimators. Finally, one real data set has been analyzed for illustrative purposes and it is observed that the proposed model fits better than Weibull, gamma and generalized exponential distributions.

Abstract:

Besides for its own merits, text classification (TC) has become a cornerstone in many applications. Work presented here is part of and a pre-requisite for a project we have overtaken to create a corpus for the Arabic text process. It is an attempt to create modules automatically that would help speed up the process of classification for any text categorization task. It also serves as a tool for the creation of Arabic text corpora. In particular, we create a text classification process for Arabic news articles downloaded from web news portals and sites. The suggested procedure is a pilot project that uses some human predefined set of documents that have been assigned to some subjects or categories. A vectorized Term Frequency, Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) based information processing was used for the initial verification of the categories. The resulting validated categories used to predict categories for new documents. The experiment used 1000 initial documents pre-assigned into five categories of each with 200 documents assigned. An initial set of 2195 documents were downloaded from a number of Arabic news sources. They were preprocessed for use in testing the utility of the suggested classification procedure using the COSINE similarity as a classifier. Results were very encouraging with very satisfying precision, recall and F1-score. It is the intention of the authors to improve the procedure and to use it for Arabic corpora creation.
